Residents of Halifax-Dartmouth are upset about Air Canada’s plans to close the flight attendant base in Halifax. 187 jobs will be lost in Halifax, as part of Air Canada’s plan to cut 2,000 jobs nationally.
Mike Savage, MP for Dartmouth-Cole Harbour expressed his concern, saying, “This is a trend that I am very concerned about. Our country is so large that air travel is a necessity for many people. We are in a time of opportunity in Atlantic Canada, and our ability to successfully do business with the rest of the country, and the rest of the world, will be compromised if we cannot count on reliable flights.”
